INJURY UPDATE: Stones Battling Busy Treatment Room

AN unwelcome spate of injuries has dogged the early week’s of Wealdstone’s 2026/27 Enterprise National League campaign, with Gary Waddock likely to be without a number of senior figures for a while yet.

There is positive news to report, though, with wing-back Kyle Smith (thigh) and midfielder Aaron Henry (groin) making good progress – albeit this weekend’s Yeovil Town clash is most likely going to come too soon for both.

Of those nursing hamstring complaints, centre-half Dion Conroy is moving closer to a competitive return – perhaps as soon as the October 17 FA Cup tie – having recently joined in with a couple of training sessions.

However Jayden Harris, having enjoyed a promising start in attacking midfield positions at Stones, is set for a lengthy lay-off due to a hamstring injury.

A hamstring strain has also befallen defender Jaydn Mundle-Smith, with his return said to be more weeks than days away. And forward Admiral Muskwe picked up a injury during training not long after his arrival and is expected to be out for some weeks yet.

Calf injury victim Tyrelle Newton had a recent scan and is now back in training and very much hoping to stay injury-free as he plots a path towards regular first-team minutes once again.

Dan Chesters left the field at Forest Green Rovers with an upset stomach a couple of weeks ago and, although he came on as a sub at Barrow last weekend and has been able to train, it’s a situation that the medical team are keeping a close eye on.

Defender Mason Barrett’s news around his ACL rupture was covered independently last week. Click HERE to read back the thoughts of both Waddock and Wealdstone chairman Rory Fitzgerald.

The absentee list is also increased by one for the next two weekends, with Dylan Kadji suspended after picking up two yellow cards during the Barrow defeat last weekend.

As it’s his second dismissal this season for the midfielder, the suspension attracts an additional tariff of one game meaning he’ll miss both the October 10 and October 17 home fixtures.

Despite the number unavailable to him, Waddock is firmly on the front foot about his team’s prospects.

“My focus is preparing the players available to us for the next games ahead,” said the Wealdstone manager.

“Of course we’d like to have a greater choice for our matchday squad, but that’s not possible right now and I’m not going to dwell on it.

“Everyone we select for Saturday’s game will be ready to give all they’ve got for the Wealdstone shirt. If that can be matched from the terraces by our fans, then I’m sure we can be really optimistic about what we can achieve.”
