News from The Vale

Wealdstone will be looking to build on their impressive win against Boston United at the Jakemans Community Stadium on Saturday.

The Stones had initially trailed in the game but rallied to come away with a 3-1 win thanks to goals from Dylan Kadji, Olufela Olomola and Jaydn Mundle-Smith as well as a vital penalty save by Dante Baptiste.

After the match, manager Gary Waddock said, “Every player to a man has been outstanding, as well as the supporters that we had with us today.

“On the back of what happened last Saturday to where we are today it’s a massive credit to the staff and a massive credit to the players.”

Wealdstone will wait for an update on the fitness of striker Luke Norris, who was absent on Saturday with a possible groin injury ahead of Tuesday’s game.

Summer signing Admiral Muskwe is yet to feature after picking up an injury shortly after arriving and Dion Conroy continues his recovery after leaving the pitch feeling his hamstring during the win at Sutton Utd.

Tuesday night will represent the first “Mighty Midweeker” at The Vale this season with fans able to attend a pre-match Q&A with legendary former goalkeeper Jonathan North, starting at 6:15pm in the clubhouse.

The Opposition

Halifax Town come into the match off the back of a 3-0 win at home over Hornchurch.

They currently occupy 13th place in the National League table having won three of their first seven matches, but they are yet to pick up a victory away from home.

The sides have faced each other on 12 previous occasions with both sides picking up five wins each and the other two matches ending in a draw.

Wealdstone’s last victory over the Shaymen came in the Enterprise National League last season in the corresponding fixture at The Vale.

After the visitors were reduced to 10 men, a goal from Sean Adarkwa followed by a 30-yard thunderbolt by Jack Cook ensured the Stones sealed a 2-1 win.
