INJURY LATEST: Norris “A Chance For Saturday”

STRIKER Luke Norris is “hopefully a chance for Saturday” (away v Tamworth, 12.30pm ko) according to Wealdstone manager Gary Waddock, who refused to use a spate of early-season absentees as an excuse for his side’s lack of threat in defeat at home to FC Halifax Town.

The forward has missed the last two league fixtures, but is closest to a return of those currently sidelined.

“Dion is a number of weeks away,” added Waddock, referring to centre-half Dion Conroy who limped out of the Sutton United win at the end of August after tweaking a hamstring while striking a free-kick.

Wing-back Joe Newton was withdrawn at the interval during victory at Boston United on Saturday, also with a hamstring complaint.

“He felt it during the first half and that’s why he came off,” said the Wealdstone boss. “We’re awaiting the results of the scan so we can decide what’s next for Joe.”

Also in the treatment room is Norris’ fellow forward Admiral Muskwe, who picked up an injury in training before he had a chance to make his Stones’ debut.
