WEALDSTONE Club Captain Jack Cook has today joined Hampton & Richmond Borough on a 28-day loan.
The hugely-popular defender moves to the Enterprise National League South Beavers in a bid to improve match fitness after injury denied him a full summer’s preparation.
“Cookie didn’t get a proper pre-season under his belt,” explained manager Gary Waddock.
“And with the intensity of games these days, it’s very hard to catch up during the season. So he’s not been able to get as much game time as either of us would have liked.”
He added: “We agreed a loan move would be really beneficial; go out, get some regular games and come back more match-ready for us.”
The 33-year-old, who’s featured well over 200 times for the Stones since joining from Woking in summer 2021, has made one league start this campaign among a handful of appearances, and was on the scoresheet against Gateshead at The Vale in late September.
Everyone at the club wishes Jack a very successful month’s football at Borough.
